Copper head

Found in most parts of the panhandle of northern Florida

The head of Copper head has the most defined arrow shape of all of Florida's venomous species.
You are most likely to find them in a heavily fallen leafy areas.
Eastern Diamondback Rattler

Can grow to 8.5 feet making it the largest venomous snake in North America.

Are capable of accurately striking up to one-third of the length of their body.
Can be found throughout the State of Florida

Third largest venomous snake in North America

Can be found in parts of northern Florida
Dusky Pygmy Rattle Snake

Can grow to a maximum length of 30 inches
Is the most commonly found venomous snake throughout Florida

A newborn can coil up and be no larger than a quarter.
Eastern Coral Snake

Red touches yellow, Kill a fellow.......
Most active at dusk and after a rain fall
Fangs sit in the rear of the snakes mouth, making it harder to bite you.
Most common place to find a coral snake around your yard is in a compost pile
Can reach lengths just over 4 feet
Water Moccasin / Cotton Mouth

Can grow to just over 6 feet
Found around water, are commonly known to have an aggressive temperament and often seen with mouth open displaying fangs.
As juveniles, their body pattern resembles a copper head but as they mature they turn mostly all black.
